Five professional chefs recently adjudicated the 31st annual Culinary Arts Exposition at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's School of Applied Technology, Wellsville.Â

Some 900 two- and four-year graduates, their families, professors, and friends will be on hand Sunday, May 18, at noon, as ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College honors its 97th graduating class.
Presiding over the ceremony will be Dr. John M. Anderson, college president.
Lax falls in Regional Opener

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College lacrosse team started slow and never could recover as they fell 19-7 to Hudson Valley CC in a Region III Tournament 1st round match-up played in Troy, NY on Tuesday afternoon. ASC finishes the season 8-6 while HVCC advances the semi-finals to take on the winner of #2 Onondaga CC and #7 Jefferson CC.
Baseball splits with Finger Lakes

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College baseball team split their final regular season doubleheader at Finger Lakes CC on Tuesday. FLCC got a walk-off homer by Zach Eason in game one to win 8-7 but the Pioneers collected 17 hits in the nightcap in a 15-1 victory.
Lady Pioneers battle tough vs. Broome

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College softball team battled tough in a doubleheader at Broome CC but came away with two hard fought losses. The Blue and Gold fell 10-3 in the opener and then couldn't rally all the way back from a 4-1 hole and fell 4-3 in game two.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College All-American basketball Thia Smith (Elmira Free) has decided to continue her collegiate career at CW Post after two stellar seasons as a Lady Pioneer. CW Post, located in Brookville, NY, is a campus of Long Island University and is a member of the East Coast Conference.
A-State set to host Track Regionals this weekend

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College will host the 2008 Region III Outdoor Track & Field Championships this Friday and Saturday at the new on-campus athletic complex. ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State will battle with SUNY Cobleskill, SUNY Delhi, Erie CC, Finger Lakes CC, Herkimer CCC, and Mohawk Valley CC.Â

A-State #6 Seed in Lacrosse Regionals

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College lacrosse team will enter this week's Region III Tournament as the #6 seed. The Pioneers finished the regular season with an 8-5 overall record and a 7-4 mark in Region III contests.

Graduating seniors enrolled in ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's architectural technology program recently memorialized their late classmate, Anthony Carino, Poughquag, by donating an architecture book, The Art Museum from Boullée to Bilbao, signed by each of them, to the Hinkle Memorial Library on the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ campus.Â

ASC Takes First Place in National Basic Utility Vehicle Competition

Five baccalaureate-level mechanical engineering seniors at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College, under the guidance of their project advisers, SUNY (State University of New York) Distinguished Service Professor Dr. Edward Tezak, and Ray Gleason, instructional support technician, captured first place in the eighth annual national BUV (basic utility vehicle) competition held recently in Indianapolis.
ASC Hosting Going Green Festival

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College is hosting a Going Green Festival, sponsored by ACCORD Corp. and WNY Energy $mart Communities. This two-day green business conference is offered for aspiring entrepreneurs and existing businesses in Allegany County. It is also intended to raise awareness of energy efficiency issues and opportunities for homeowners.
Baseball gets back on track with sweep of Onondaga

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College baseball team snapped a three-game slide with a doubleheader sweep at Onondaga CC. ASC held on to win the opener 13-11 and won the nightcap 8-4. The Blue and Gold are now 22-12-1 on the season.
Tracksters wrap up regular season at Cornell

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College track & field team wrapped up the regular season with a strong showing at the Big Red Invitational at Cornell University. The Pioneers had four athletes place in the competition that featured NCAA Division I, Division III, and NJCAA schools.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College softball team was held to just five hits as they dropped a doubleheader at Tompkins Cortland CC, 12-0 & 8-0. The Lady Pioneers fall to 8-22 on the year.
Big 2nd quarter leads A-State to Win

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College lacrosse team outscored Tompkins Cortland CC 8 to 2 in the 2nd quarter to erase a 1st quarter deficit en route to a 21-17 regular season ending victory. With the win the Pioneers head into the Region III Tournament with a 8-5 (7-4 Region III) record.
Pioneers fall to Monroe

Monroe CC scored two runs in the 4th and two more in the 5th inning en route to a 7-2 victory over ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College in a Region III Division II contest. ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ falls to 20-12-1 (4-3 Region III Division II) on the year and will be the #2 seed in next weekend's Regional tournament. Monroe improves to 30-12 (6-1 Region III Division II) and clinches the #1 seed.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College baseball team had its 13-game winning streak snapped in a doubleheader at Monroe CC on Thursday afternoon. The Tribunes won both halves of the doublheader, 4-1 & 11-6.

Elizabeth Harkenrider, Rexville, a nursing major at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College, has been named the 2007-08 ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College Student Employee of the Year.  Elizabeth works in the Financial Aid Office and was nominated by her supervisor, Deborah Neu, secretary for Financial Aid.Â

Monroe trips up ASC

The Monroe CC softball team extended their winning streak to 15 games with a doubleheader sweep of ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State on Tuesday afternoon. The Tribunes, the two-time defending NJCAA Division III champion and currently ranked #2 in the nation, won 13-1 and 8-0 to improve to 23-9 on the year. ASC has dropped its last eight games and falls to 8-18 on the season.

Students enrolled in the Automotive Trades curriculums at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College celebrated National Car Care Month recently when they hosted their annual Car Care Awareness Day in mid-April, on the School of Applied Technology Campus, Wellsville, with a variety of free services, including checks of the following items: lights, fluids, tires, battery, belts and pulleys, and an under-hood inspection.Â
A-State falls to Herkimer

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College lacrosse team led #1 Herkimer CCC 5-4 after the first quarter but the Generals got the offense going and outscored the Pioneers 25 to 6 the rest of the way for the 29-11 victory. HCCC outscored ASC 11 to 3 in the 2nd and 8 to 0 in the 3rd to take control of the contest. #1 Herkimer is now 10-1 on the year while the Pioneers fall to 7-4 (6-3 Region III).
