Dr. John 0. Hunter, former president of ��Ӱֱ�� State College (1986-93), returned to campus in late October for the ERGO Fall Poetry Reading.

Members of the planning team for the Center for Organic and Sustainable Agriculture (COSA) at ��Ӱֱ�� State College met recently to “seal the deal” with Agricultural Engineering Services, PLLC, (AES), Auburn, chosen by ASC to be the lead engineers for the College’s new Dairy Facility Expansion.

Three ��Ӱֱ�� State College Building Trades students, Jake Vincent, Lakeview, Christopher Fronczak, Lancaster, and Evan Sheffer, Albion, have been chosen to participate in ABC’s “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” show.

Coach Boyd recently invited former students to return to campus for an annual women's basketball game.

At the Monroe CC Classic, the ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team split a pair of games.  The Pioneers defeated SUNY Delhi 70-69 in overtime on Saturday but fell 59-49 to CCAC Allegheny on Sunday.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College swimming team had a solid showing at their opening invitational of the season.  The men's team finished 2nd out of six teams at the Genesee CC Harvest Invitational while the women finished 3rd.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's cross country team finished as NJCAA Division III National Runner-Ups at the National Championship at Finger Lakes CC on Saturday.  ASC scored 70 points and trailed just SUNY Delhi's 22.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's cross country team entered the NJCAA Division III National Championships ranked #5 in the national poll and raced to a 5th place finish.  The Lady Pioneers scored a 141.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College football team couldn't capitalize on numerous scoring chances and fell 21-7 to #15 Nassau CC in their Northeast Football Conference finale.  ASC is now 3-6 (0-5 NFC) while Nassau is 7-2 (3-2 NFC).

Saturday's ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball game versus Cornell Club was cancelled due to transportation troubles.  The game will not be rescheduled.

Smiles were the order of the day recently as Cristiana Panicco (second from left) director, , traveled to ��Ӱֱ�� State College to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ��Ӱֱ�� State to offer joint study abroad programs.

��Ӱֱ�� State College’s Department of English and Humanities has undertaken a semester-long project on climate change. Students in some composition sections have been researching climate change and writing papers on various narrow topics related to it. The final examination for all sections of the foundation writing courses will also focus on climate change, and the exam itself will be written during the United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Copenhagen in December.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team withstood a furious comeback from Corning to win their first of the season, 71-67.  ASC is now 1-1 on the year.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball got solid efforts from all ten players dressed in a 79-36 victory over Corning CC in their 2009 home opener.  ASC evens up their record at 1-1 on the young season.

Students enrolled in ��Ӱֱ�� State College’s motorsports technology program recently traveled to Mooresville and Concord, NC, to get an insider’s view of professional racing.

A trio of ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's soccer players have been named All-Region following the Lady Pioneers 10-2-4 season.  Shelby Winchester (Maple Grove) was named first team while Audrey Rath (Medina) and Mo Parks (Avoca) were named second team.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College swim team dove into the 2009-10 season at Monroe CC on Wednesday evening.  The men's team fell 124-60 to the Tribunes while the women fell 96-35.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team dropped a 97-83 decision to Broome CC as they opened up their 2009-10 season.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team opened up the 2009 season with a heartbreaking 68-67 loss at Broome CC.  Broome rallied from a halftime deficit and scored the game deciding foul shots with under fifteen seconds left in the game.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's soccer team gave #1 seed Herkimer CCC all they could handle but fell 1-0 to the Generals in a Region III Division III Tournament quarterfinal contest.  The Pioneers, seeded #8, finish the season with a 8-7-1 record.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's cross country team moved up one spot to #2 in the last NJCAA Division III poll prior to the National Championships while the women's team remained steady at the #5 spot.

��Ӱֱ�� State College freshman setter Brittany Haines (Salamanca) has earned another post-season honor.  This past weekend, Haines was named All-Region 1st team after helping the Lady Pioneers to a 20-14 overall record.

John Sweeney (Barker), Brandon Lewis (Red Creek), and Abby Benton (Frewsburg) all raced to All-Region honors this weeked at the Region III Championships.  ASC Head Coach Gary Moore was also named the men's Region III Coach of the Year.

The 2009-10 ��Ӱֱ�� State College basketball season tips off on Tuesday evening as the Pioneers travel to Binghamton for non-league match-ups versus Broome CC.

��Ӱֱ�� State College sophomore basketball player Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) has been named a 1st team pre-season NJCAA Division II All-American.  Brooks is one of two Region III athletes to be chosen for the honor.

#8 seeded ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's soccer team will travel to #1 Herkimer CCC for a Region III Division III quarterfinal match-up on Tuesday afternoon.  The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at Wehrum Stadium.

The #6 seeded ��Ӱֱ�� State College volleyball team finished 1-2 in pool play at the Region III Division III Championships on Saturday.  The Lady Pioneers finish their 2009 campaign with a 20-14 overall record.
