The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College women's basketball team claimed the ASC Tournament championship with a hard fought 76-69 victory over Dean College. The title is the Lady Pioneers fourth in the tournament's five years.

Pioneers Lose in Final Seconds

Chris Noel connected on two foul shots with just over 10 seconds remaining to lift Jefferson CC to a 75-74 victory over ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State in the first round of the ASC Tournament. Jefferson will take on Rockland CC, 82-67 winner over Dean College, on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. in the championship game.

Lady Pioneers Advance to Championship

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College women's basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 63-45 victory over Jefferson CC in the first round of the ASC Tournament. The Lady Pioneers are now 2-4 on the season and will take on Dean College in the championship game of the tournament at Noon on Sunday.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College men's basketball team climbed over .500 for the first time during the 2008-09 season with a 101-83 victory over Ithaca College JV on Thursday evening. The Pioneers head into this weekend's ASC Tournament with a 5-4 overall mark.

Six Earn All-NFC Honors

Six Pioneer football players were named to the Northeast Football Conference All-Conference team for the 2008 season. Wide Receiver Josh Griffen (Englewood, NJ), running back DeAndre Johnson (Detroit, MI), defensive lineman Michael Gee (Englewood, NJ), defensive back Damion King (Detroit, MI), defensive back Ike Iloegbu (Brentwood) and punter Preston Washburn (Dundee) were each named Second Team All-NFC.

Two Lady Pioneer volleyball players earned All-Tournament honors at the NJCAA Division III National Championship Tournament this weekend in Rochester, MN. Sophomore Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) and freshman Miki Inoue (Kumamoto, Japan) were each selected All-Tournament team members.
