Student Wins Scholarship from American Council of Engineering Companies of New York

Now more than ever, given rising tuition costs and a tight economy, academic scholarships to high-achieving students entering the engineering field play an important support role for the recipients. This year, 16 students in New York State colleges and universities received American Council of Engineering Companies of New York scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $5,000.

Dr. Richard Kellogg, professor of psychology at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College, is the author of an article appearing in the most recent issue of Paperback Parade, a quarterly magazine published by Gryphon Books of Brooklyn. Titled "Philip Wylie's Final Dream," the article notes that author Philip Wylie (1902-1971) was writing about global warming, contamination of our air and water, and the grave risks of nuclear power long before these issues reached public consciousness.
