Kathleen Casey Ebert, Wellsville, professor of mathematics and statistics at ��Ӱֱ�� State College, has been invited to serve on the Provost's Advisory Group for the SUNY (State University of New York) Assessment Initiative as a representative of faculty, the GEAR (General Education Assessment Review) committee group, and the Colleges of Technology.

The Hinkle Memorial Library on the ��Ӱֱ�� State College campus has been undergoing an “extreme makeover” during the summer which included new carpeting, new furniture, new window treatments, and re-positioning of furniture on the main floor.

��Ӱֱ�� State College kicked off another academic year Aug. 17, when President Dr. John M. Anderson welcomed new and returning faculty and staff to his opening remarks.

��Ӱֱ�� State College honored history and tradition recently as it re-christened the Victorian House to better reflect the college’s history and to honor Theta Gamma, a fraternal organization whose members used the building as their lodging for decades.

State University of New York (SUNY) Chancellor Dr. Nancy L. Zimpher continued her whirlwind summer tour of SUNY’s 64 campuses with a 55^th stop at ��Ӱֱ�� State College in Allegany County on Tuesday.

Dr. Steven Tyrell, vice president for student affairs, has been selected to serve on a national task force that will look at developing a unified set of professional standards and knowledge competencies for student affairs professionals. The joint task force will look to unify professional standards that exist in the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and the American College Personnel Association – International (ACPA).
