The ��Ӱֱ�� State College wrestling team dropped a close WNYAC match 21-19 at Mercyhurst North East on Thursday.  The match was the first dual match for both teams on the season.

��Ӱֱ�� State College's Peer Tutoring Program was the recipient recently of a check for $3,000, the first installment of a $6,000 commitment made by the ASC Student Senate, to help defray the cost of the program's operation. 

The junior class of architectural technology students at ��Ӱֱ�� State College participated and placed first in a National Design Competition sponsored by the Tilt-Up Concrete Association and the Portland Cement Association.

In this week's Q & A we sat down with sophomore guard on the women's basketball team, Sherelle Brooks.  One of only three returning players from last year's team, Brooks averages almost seven points and four assists per game.

All five starters scored in double figures as ��Ӱֱ�� State defeated Cayuga CC 81-70 at the Orvis Activities Center on Tuesday evening.  The win improves the Pioneers to 3-4 on the young season.

With the game tied at 6-6 early in the first half, Cayuga CC went on a 16-0 run and never let ��Ӱֱ�� State fight all the way back en route to a 86-68 victory.  The Lady Pioneers fall to 1-3 on the season.

Six years ago Gene Doorley took over an ��Ӱֱ�� State College volleyball program that played a very limited schedule and won only a handful of games each season.  Today his team is preparing to make their second straight trip to the NJCAA Division III National Championships.

With the volleyball team leaving for Minnesota to compete in the national tournament this weekend, we decided to get some of their thoughts on the season. 

In an ongoing attempt to help you get to know your ��Ӱֱ�� State athletes, we sat down with sophomore basketball player Dan Foley and asked him a few questions.  One of only two returning players from last year's team, Foley averages 11.5 points per game after five games.

When ��Ӱֱ�� State College completed its new $3.2M outdoor athletic facility, a problem remained: a facility that big is simply too big to photograph from the ground.

Club hosted three visitors to campus last month to talk to the WINS Club
members during the 17^th annual Women in the Field Dinner.

"Land
Diaries," an exhibit of prints by Rochester artist Zerbe Sodervick, will open
in the Gallery of ��Ӱֱ�� State College's Hinkle Memorial Library on Tuesday,
Nov. 11, and run through the end of the semester.

Three ��Ӱֱ�� State cross country runners earned All-American honors at the NJCAA Division III National Championship in Lincoln, RI.  John Sweeney (Barker) earned Second Team honors with a ninth place finish (28:32).  Ashley Fung (Greenwich) and Kaleigh Ligoci (Cicero-North Syracuse) each earned Honorable Mention with 12th place (21:09) and 13th place (21:12) respectively.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College volleyball team will be the #4 seed in this week's NJCAA Division III Championships.  The Lady Pioneers will match up with #5 Hibbing (MN) CC at Noon (CST) on Friday in the quarterfinals.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team couldn't get the offense going and fell 96-48 at Lakeland (Kirtland, OH) on Sunday afternoon.  The Lady Pioneers are now 1-2 in the early going of their 2008-09 campaign.

For the second day in a row the ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team lost a close battle in Ohio.  Sunday, the Pioneers fell 75-71 to Lakeland (Kirtland, OH) CC.  ASC is now 2-4 on the season.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's swim team swam away with the top spot at the Genesee CC Fall Invitational on Saturday afternoon.  The men scored 334.5 points ahead of 2nd place SUNY Delhi's 209.  The women finished 5th with 64 points out of six teams.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team dropped a close one 79-76 to Cuyahoga CC on Saturday afternoon in Cleveland, OH.  The Pioneers fall to 2-3 on the season.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College football team fell behind 27-0 before putting together an impressive comeback that fell just short.  The Pioneers conclude the season with a 4-5 mark following a 34-27 defeat to Nassau CC.  With the win the Lions finish as NFC runner-ups with a 6-4 overall mark and a 4-1 NFC.

Both the ��Ӱֱ�� State men's and women's cross country teams raced to top five finishes at the NJCAA Division III National Championships in Warwick, RI.   The men captured third place while the women placed fifth.

Both the ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's and women's basketball teams earned victories at Corning CC on Thursday.  The women evened their record at 1-1 with a 69-47 victory while the men are now 2-2 following a 77-56 win.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State men's soccer team remains ranked fifth in the latest NJCAA Division III poll after going 2-1 in last week's action.  This is the ninth week in a row that the Pioneers have been ranked in the top 15.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team came out fast and went on to a 80-60 victory over Broome CC in their home opener on Tuesday evening.  The Pioneers are now 1-2 on the season.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball shot just 28.4% (19 for 67) from the field and fell 54-47 to Broome CC in their 2008-09 opener.
