��Ӱֱ�� State College (ASC) is using the upcoming inauguration of Dr. Steven Mauro as an opportunity to celebrate the college and the entire WNY region including the great food that is found here. The reception following ASC inauguration ceremonies on October 20 is titled “A Taste of Western New York.”

Tyler Uebelhoer did not attend ��Ӱֱ�� State but has become a huge fan of the renewable energy education taught on campus. Uebelhoer and his company Buffalo Solar recently completed work on a community solar farm in ��Ӱֱ��.

The Culinary Arts department will host a sit down five-course Oktoberfest dinner on Oct. 13 at ��Ӱֱ�� State’s Wellsville campus. The dinner is $25 each and the proceeds will benefit Culinary Arts scholarships.

The Center for Community Education and Training (CCET) at ��Ӱֱ�� State has received approval from the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) to offer the 250 hour Credentialed Prevention Professional (CPP) program.

Restoration of the bell tower at ��Ӱֱ�� State College (ASC) along with the rebuilding and upgrading of the college’s underground infrastructure are just some of the extensive construction projects currently underway.

��Ӱֱ�� State College will host a pair of Career Fairs this fall. 168 employers have registered for the events.

��Ӱֱ�� State College graduate Brian Kelly ’17 and ’19 and his company, Kelly Design and Development, LLC has been awarded a business development grant from the City of Olean’s Boost Business Grant Program.

Seventeen teams competed at the 2nd Annual ��Ӱֱ�� State Open organized by the Class of 1978 at the Springville Country Club (Springville, NY). The team of Timothy O’Tool, Eric Buchnowski, Ken Strell, and Travis Benson took home the team honors with a score of 62.

��Ӱֱ�� State sport management students will have the opportunity to be part of the Buffalo Bills 2022 season. Thirty students in the program have joined the guest service team and will serve as ticket takers and ushers at home games.

First-year ��Ӱֱ�� State agriculture student Hope Avedisian (Hilton) and her heifer Fortune finished 8th at the National Junior Dairy Show in Harrisburg, PA.

The inauguration of Steven Mauro, PhD, as the thirteenth president of ��Ӱֱ�� State College (ASC) will take place on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m. in the Orvis Activities Center. 

This weekend ��Ӱֱ�� State Culinary Arts students and faculty will be on display at the Cuba Garlic Festival. Visit the Stinkin’ Rose tent on Sept. 17 and 18 to see them in action.

Members of the ��Ӱֱ�� State University Police have teamed up with Ardent Solutions for a Car Seat Safety Check at the Wellsville Campus (2530 River Road, Wellsville, NY) on Sept. 24.

Instructor Casey Arlig-Hinz and several ��Ӱֱ�� State agriculture students volunteered at the Livingston County Farm Fest at Coyne Farms.

��Ӱֱ�� State College (ASC) is offering free applications and more for prospective students with a new initiative called Free Tuition Plus. ��Ӱֱ�� State has a long history of helping first-generation students and low-income families who otherwise struggle to afford a college education.

��Ӱֱ�� State remembers the 21st anniversary of September 11 and wishes to honor the victims and their families. We must also remember the heroic efforts of first responders who answered the call while endangering their lives.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College (ASC) Culinary Arts department will host a drive-thru spaghetti dinner on September 22 at the Culinary Arts Building on the Wellsville campus. Proceeds of the event will benefit the program’s scholarship fund.

��Ӱֱ�� State students and faculty will be involved in the Remote Area Medical (RAM) free clinic at Genesee Valley Central School on September 24-25. 

The nursing department at ��Ӱֱ�� State will be hosting a site visit for initial accreditation of the baccalaureate in nursing program by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Dr. David Ray and his criminal justice class acted quickly to neutralize the threat and the emergency drill was deemed a success.

Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Gregory Sammons donned the defensive suit and simulated the threat for this exercise. He noted “it was an affirmation of our readiness to find so many doors locked and people taking the right precautions. I also want to congratulate Dr. Ray and his class for their physically assertive response. They were not passive, and I had no chance to act before they had me immobilized on the floor.”
