÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥

A one-day workshop will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College.  Open to the public, the workshop will be of interest to area woodlot owners, students of agriculture and/or natural resource management, and others interested in learning about forest farming enterprises suitable for this area. 

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College will celebrate the academic achievements of its students during the 24th annual Honors Convocation slated for Saturday, April 26, at 4 p.m. in the Orvis Gymnasium on the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ campus.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's University Police Department was recently awarded a grant in response to an application through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Commercial Equipment Direct Assistance Program (CEDAP).

About 150 professionals convened on the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College recently to attend the fourth annual Conference on Aging. Rose Marie Fagan, outreach coordinator, The Pioneer Network, who served as the morning's keynote speaker, discussed pioneering approaches to change the culture of aging from the traditional nursing facilities to a culture that is life affirming, satisfying, humane, and meaningful.

Students at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College were treated recently to a special dinner featuring main courses of steak, chicken, and shrimp fettuccini, served up by the college's top administrators.

Students from Region I BOCES (Board of Cooperative Education and Services) districts--encompassing Western New York and the Southern Tier--competed recently in a SkillsUSA (formerly Vocational Industrial Clubs of America) Day leadership conference and skills Olympics at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College, on both the Wellsville and ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ campuses, earlier this month. Several BOCES schools participated in the event.

Through the efforts of Office of International Education, ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College hosted a delegation from China on March 22. The delegation consisted of 16 leaders from the Chinese education department, colleges, and high schools.

The Electrical Engineering Department at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College recently hosted 15 high school students from the Jamestown Technical Academy for a day-long workshop which provided an overview of programs offered by that department.
