Students enrolled in the Automotive Trades curriculums at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College will celebrate National Car Care Month in April by hosting their annual Car Care Awareness Day on Saturday, April 19, 2008, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in freshman shop on the School of Applied Technology Campus, Wellsville, with a variety of FREE services.  Signs will be posted to direct participants.

The Admissions Office at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College announces an Open House program, Saturday, April 26, beginning at 9 a.m. on the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ campus.

Dr. Matthew Harbur, assistant professor of agriculture and horticulture at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College, recently spoke to members of the Department of Agricultural Sciences, Cornell University, about the development of the Center for Organic and Sustainable Agriculture at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's School of Applied Technology, Wellsville, will host its 10th annual postsecondary (college level) NYS SkillsUSA (formerly Vocational Industrial Clubs of America) competition Saturday, March 29.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's Office of Career Development will host a "WINS" (Women in Non-traditional Studies) FutureBound Career Day, Friday, March 28, from 8:30 a.m.-2:15 p.m.

This annual career exploration day is held for 10^th grade girls interested in learning more about non-traditional occupations and careers (non-traditional occupations are defined as those with fewer than 25 percent female workers).

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College recently hosted the Southern Tier Consortia for Alcohol and Other Substance Abuse Services. The Consortia is comprised of colleges,universities, and community prevention providers in the Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, and western portion of Steuben Counties.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's new president Dr. John M. Anderson, left, and his wife Vivien were the guests of honor at a recent reception hosted by the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College Council at Club 57 in Hornell, where they renewed acquaintances with old friends and former colleagues and met new friends as part of their re-introduction to the area.

A group of 42 students from the five boroughs of New York City, who have been accepted to enroll at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College in the fall, visited campus recently and spent a whirlwind 24 hours on campus.

About 150 professionals are expected when ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College hosts the fourth annual Conference on Aging, Tuesday, March 18, from 8 a.m-4 p.m.

On Saturday, March 8, David Lee, from The Chartered Institute of Technology (CITECH) in Singapore, visited ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College to explore partnership opportunities between the two institutions.
