Local eateries will once again participate in ��Ӱֱ�� State College’s sixth annual Wellsville Ridge Walk and Run.

Dr. Steve Tyrell, vice president for Student Affairs at ��Ӱֱ�� State College, recently co-authored an article in the CSPA-NYS Journal of Student Affairs. Tyrell, along with his co-author, Dr. Charlie Fey, vice president for Student Affairs at the University of Akron, discusses the future of student affairs in higher education.

��Ӱֱ�� State has partnered with Christianville to help rebuild the much-needed medical facilities that were destroyed by the 2010 earthquake.

Dr. Richard Kellogg, professor emeritus of psychology at ��Ӱֱ�� State college, is the author of an article appearing in the most recent issue of THE SERPENTINE MUSE, a quarterly literary journal. Titled “Francis Galton: A Suitable Companion for the Great Detective,” the article notes that Sir Francis Galton (1822-1911), the eminent British psychologist, shared a number of hobbies, attitudes, and social values with Conan Doyle’s literary creation, Sherlock Holmes.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College Drama Club will present Man of La Mancha as its fall musical. Performances are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, Oct. 27 and 28 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m., in the Orvis Auditorium on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus. Ticket prices are $5 for general admission and $2 for ASC/AU college students.

Culinary arts students will prepare appetizers, soups, a salad bar, and spaghetti and meat balls and sausage; assorted breads and desserts will be prepared by the baking, production, and management students. A choice of beverages will be available.

Five members of the ��Ӱֱ�� State College professional staff recently returned from a week-long trip to Minot, ND, where they participated in flood relief efforts. What follows is a first-person account of the trip.
