English and Humanities Department at ��Ӱֱ�� State College, has been tapped to represent the State University of New York (SUNY) at the newly formed national project, Partnership for the Assessment of College and Career Readiness (PARCC).

The web applications and applied database management classes revamped the Allegany County Historical Society's Web site.

Additionally, the web programming I class developed a Web presence for the Canisteo Community Support Group, Inc., an organization that raises funds for local causes and manages two local events: Christmas in the Village and Crazee Daze.

Danielle received 240 orders of two cookies each, meaning 480 cookies to be baked, hand-decorated, packaged, and delivered! More than 55 hours of planning and work went into the project. As a result of all the hard work, $246.65 was added to the building fund.

The architectural design competition, held by the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA), is open to students of architecture currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program. This year’s project was to design a building to house a Classroom of the Future on a site in Tennessee utilizing tilt-up concrete construction.

Nearly 1,000 BOCES students, their advisers, observers, parents, and guests from Western New York counties, including Allegany, Steuben, Monroe, Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Cattaraugus, and Ontario, will converge on the ��Ӱֱ�� State College (462 student competitors) campus and the ASC School of Applied Technology (271 student competitors) campus, Wellsville, where they will compete in their areas of study.

Despite the cold of a recent January evening, ��Ӱֱ�� State College community members and guests were aglow with good cheer during the grand re-opening of three of the college’s recently remodeled residence halls: Main Gate A, and Main Gate B.

��Ӱֱ�� State College’s WINS Club (Women in Non-traditional Studies--though membership is open to all students) recently conducted its annual fund raiser to buy presents for a local family sponsored by Steuben Rural Ministry of Canisteo. Clothing donations and household items were also received from the ��Ӱֱ�� State community.

The financial aid staff will assist students and their guests in completing and submitting the 2010-11 FAFSA electronically. The FAFSA is required for all financial aid, including New York State assistance. The financial aid staff will also be available to answer any questions regarding the financial aid process.

Students enrolled in ��Ӱֱ�� State College’s Sorrento study abroad program recently attended an Internet cineforum (teleconference) with Professor Elinor Ostrom, recipient of the 2009 Nobel Prize in Economics.
