��Ӱֱ�� State College will celebrate Earth Day with a week filled with activities and events beginning Monday, April 18, 2011.

As vice president for Institutional Advancement, Wesley is responsible for all fundraising activities at the college including annual giving, planned giving, major gifts, and capital campaigns.

Educational Opportunity Program) counselor at ��Ӱֱ�� State College has been honored with a NACADA (National Academic Advising Association) Region 1 Advising Excellence Award, which was presented to her at a conference held recently in Burlington, VT, where she presented “The Mid-Semester Reality Check – Creating a Plan for Academic Recovery.”

Community members are encouraged to bring their cars and light trucks to campus for the following FREE check-up performed by ��Ӱֱ�� State College automotive students: lights, fluids, tires, battery, belts and pulleys, and an under-hood inspection. Every car that goes through the inspection process will also receive a car wash FREE of charge.

Each day will include three meals, two classroom instruction periods, and guest speakers. On-campus lodging will be available in close proximity to classroom locations. Participants staying on campus will be required to arrive on Sunday evening, June 5. All materials, as well as expenses for food and lodging, have been donated.

Students at ��Ӱֱ�� State College will present the play Duck Hunter Shoots Angel by Mitch Albom, Thursday and Friday, April 7 and 8, 2011, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, April 9, at 2 p.m. in the Orvis Activities Center Auditorium on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus. Ticket prices: students $2, community members $5. Please note that this play is rated PG-13 for language and mature humor.

Members of the English and Humanities Department at ��Ӱֱ�� State College are preparing for their spring poetry reading, Tuesday, March 29, at 7 p.m. in the Allegany Room of Central Dining Hall on the ��Ӱֱ�� State College campus. This event is open to the public free of charge.

Enjoying that new iPad, but don’t know what to do with the clunky desktop it replaced? ��Ӱֱ�� State College, ��Ӱֱ�� University, and Sunnking Electronics Recycling are joining forces during Earth Week to help you out.

Beginning with ancient geologic history and ending with events as recent as ��Ӱֱ��’s nationally recognized “Traffic Light Celebration,” Volk entertained everyone with facts often known to only a small number of ��Ӱֱ�� insiders.

In a time of busy schedules and frigid winter temperatures that kept many college faculty and staff from their lunchtime campus walks, Patty Amidon, coordinator of health & peer education at ��Ӱֱ�� State College, decided to help employees exercise by taking wellness to their offices. Thus began the Wellness Office Workout Program.
