The Admissions Office at ��Ӱֱ�� State College announces an Open House program, Saturday, March 26, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Orvis Activities Center on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus.

Members of the 2011 graduating nursing class made personal donations as a Pay It Forward gesture toward a benefit held in memory of Jaden’s brother, Kylan, who passed away during the fall 2010 semester.

��Ӱֱ�� State College faculty, staff, students, and members of the ��Ӱֱ�� community are invited to participate in Relay for Life, a 12-hour fund raising event for cancer research, education, and advocacy while celebrating survivorship and remembering loved ones lost to cancer. The event is scheduled from 6 p.m. Friday, April 8 through 6 a.m. Saturday April 9, on the ASC campus.

George J. Welch, Corning, has been appointed by the NYS Governor’s Office to the ��Ӱֱ�� State College Council.

Four women...four backgrounds....four approaches to art, all meeting weekly to paint together, challenge one another, and laugh. All formerly or currently work in Belmont and paint together there after work. All started with some tole painting, but moved on. All are, mostly, self-taught, other than occasional weekend seminars, or one day classes.

Dr. Steven Jakobi, associate professor, recently had two article published in refereed journals: “Little Monkeys on the Grass…How People For and Against Evolution Fail to Understand the Theory of Evolution,” Journal of Evolution and Outreach, Vol 3, Number 3, 2010; and “An Inexpensive and Safe Experiment to Demonstrate Koch’s Postulates Using Citrus Fruit,” Journal of Biological Education, Vol 44, Number 4, 2010.

The Intern Development Program, or IDP, is a nationally recognized architectural internship program administered by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). It is required for becoming an architect in New York State.
