In late April, the ��Ӱֱ�� State College Pioneer Woodsmen’s Club sent two teams, a Men’s and a Jack and Jill, to their second competition, the 64^th Annual Spring Meet Conclave at Paul Smith’s College, in Adirondack State Park. The Spring Meet is the collegiate woodsmen’s equivalent of the Super Bowl.

��Ӱֱ�� State College student academic achievement was celebrated last week during the 26^th annual Honors Convocation. ASC President Dr. John M. Anderson welcomed the gathered students, families, faculty, and friends and congratulated them on their achievements.

��Ӱֱ�� State College employees once again participated in the annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work^® Day in April. This event is open to employees’ children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews between the ages of nine and 15; this year, 25 children participated.

��Ӱֱ�� State College’s heavy equipment operations program and Admar Supply (a construction equipment and supply company) recently hosted the first ever Admar Municipal Day on the Wellsville Campus.

��Ӱֱ�� State College’s CAL (Collegiate Agricultural Leaders) Club recently hosted its fifth annual dairy consignment sale and silent auction in the livestock pavilion at the college farm. ASC agriculture alumni and registered dairy breeders from across New York State consigned calves and heifers to support this major fund-raising event for CAL Club.

The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at ��Ӱֱ�� State College hosted Human Services Awareness Day, recently on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus.  This event allows human services students at the college, as well as human services alumni and community services graduates in the community, to meet with representatives from local and regional human services agencies to gai

��Ӱֱ�� State College’s surveying engineering technology program received a visit from Topcon Positioning Systems representatives who hosted a demonstration of Topcon equipment incorporating the latest technology in the land surveying field, including Global Positioning System (GPS), laser scanners, and integrated robotic total stations. One of the representatives, Mike Neff, is a 1994 ��Ӱֱ��

The College purchased plants using a $1,000 donation by BP (British Petroleum), which was made on behalf of AR, a BP-affiliated company. BP employees and consultants from the project joined the College in the planting effort.

Mike Ronan, ��Ӱֱ�� State College associate professor, Automotive Trades, School of Applied Technology, hosted a seminar for ��Ӱֱ�� State Honors Program members at the senior auto shop in April. Ronan, a certified Rolls-Royce mechanic and transmission specialist, explained “How (Not) to Kill Your Car” and demonstrated common, often costly mistakes car owners commit.<

Dr. Steven Tyrell, vice president for student affairs at ��Ӱֱ�� State College recently presented the Freshman Advocate Award, to Automotive Trades Department, during the College’s 26^th Honors Convocation ceremony.
