��Ӱֱ�� State College’s Division of Student Affairs made a pre-emptive strike against the outbreak of influenza-like-illnesses (ILI) recently by distributing “flu kits” to students at both campuses during the lunch and dinner hours at their respective dining halls.

��Ӱֱ�� State College Pioneer Stadium was the place to be as college officials, student athletes, students, football fans, and honored guests gathered for the official “opening” of the stadium’s gateway building Monday night (9/21) as ��Ӱֱ�� State College President Dr. John M. Anderson performed the ritual ribbon cutting.

��Ӱֱ�� State College’s Division of Student Affairs will host the National Save a Life Tour on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Orvis gym on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus.

��Ӱֱ�� State College SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor Jim Grillo has been selected to serve on the State University of New York’s (SUNY) University-wide Advisory Council on Distinguished Teaching Professorships.  His two-year term runs from 2009-11.

Holly R. Hogan, Hornell, has been appointed by the NYS Governor’s Office to the ��Ӱֱ�� State College Council; she succeeds Terri Ross, whose term expired over the summer.

The Admissions Office at ��Ӱֱ�� State College announces an Open House program, Saturday, Oct. 24, beginning with registration at 8:30 a.m. in the Orvis Activities Center on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus.

Students enrolled in the Culinary Arts Department at ��Ӱֱ�� State College’s School of Applied Technology Campus, Wellsville, will hold a community bake sale Friday, Oct. 9 AND Saturday, Oct. 10, at the entrance of the student dining hall of the Culinary Arts Building, from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m., respectively.

The Culinary Arts Department, School of Applied Technology, ��Ӱֱ�� State College, will hold a “Viva Italia” spaghetti dinner in the Culinary Arts Building on the Wellsville campus, Thursday, Oct. 8, from 5-7 p.m. Cost of the dinner is $11 per person; cost for children 10 and under is $5. Proceeds will benefit the Top Hat Scholarship Fund.

Local eateries will once again participate in ��Ӱֱ�� State College’s fourth annual “Taste of Wellsville” this year, Saturday, Oct. 10, from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Restaurants and other food purveyors will showcase their tasty signature dishes in “miniature form” at stations around the Applied Technology Campus in Wellsville.
