Schedule Set for East-West Showdown

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College men's soccer team will open up their 2011-12 season this weekend at the East-West Showdown.  The rotating tournament will be held at SUNY Delhi this season.

The 2011 ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College football schedule has been finalized.  The Pioneers schedule features ten regular season games with four at home and six on the road.

Pioneers Garner Academic Awards

Several ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College athletes have earned honors from the NJCAA, Region III, and the Western New York Athletic Conference for outstanding academic achievements.  Three Pioneers were recipients of the NJCAA Award for Superior Academic Achievement, three more were honored with the NJCAA Award for Exemplary Academic Achievement, 11 were named Academic All-Region, and 15 were named Academic All-Conference.

Arroyo Named New ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State Athletic Director

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Steve Tyrell has announced that Dr. Daryl Arroyo has been named the new Director of Athletics, Physical Education, Recreation and Intramurals.  Arroyo, who succeeds Kathy Feldman, begins his new duties at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State on June 29. 

Frey Named All-American

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College baseball player JP Frey (Erie, PA/McDowell) has been named a NJCAA Division III 3rd team All-American.  Frey is the sixth baseball All-American since the baseball program was reinstated in 1994.

15 Tracksters Earn All-American Honors

Fifteen members of the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College outdoor track & field team earned All-American honors at the 2011 NJCAA Division III National Championships held at Pioneer Stadium.  All fifteen athletes earned 2nd team honors with 2nd place finishes in their respective events.

Depew and Harding Named All-WNYAC

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College sophomore softball players Angela Depew (Wellsville) and Amber Harding (Fillmore) have earned All-WNYAC honors.  Depew was a 1st team selection while Harding was named 2nd team.

Frey and Smith Named All-Region

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College sophomores JP Frey (Erie, PA) and Kevan Smith (Cicero North Syracuse) were both named 1st team All-Region selections this past weekend.  Frey and Smith helped the Pioneers to a 14-14 mark this spring.

Leadership, Sportsmanship, and Academic Awards Handed Out

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College athletic department handed out the Leadership, Sportsmanship, and Academic awards recently at the college's annual end of year banquet.  Cody Dill (Unatego) and Angela Depew (Wellsville) were the recipients of the leadership award, Andy Jones (Milford) and Amber Harding (Fillmore) received the sportsmanship awards, and Alex Farrell (N. Tonawanda), Charise Nankivell (Hornell), and Andrea Presher (Prattsburgh) won the academic awards.

Longtime AD Kathy Feldman Retires

One of the fixtures of the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College athletic department for the past 30 years has been Kathy Feldman.  This winter, Feldman announced her retirement and served her last day at the college on May 13.
