Sophomore soccer player Ginette Cornett (Potsdam) recently answered some questions from the sports information department about the Lady Pioneer soccer season.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College volleyball team defeated Corning CC 25-17, 25-14 to win the ASC Tournament title. The Lady Pioneers were 4-1 on the day and are now 15-8 on the season.

For the second time in the past two weeks the ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's soccer team lost a heartbreaking 2-1 overtime decision.  Finger Lakes CC scored 1:42 into the first overtime to secure the win.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's cross country team won the Nazareth College Invitational while the women finished 4th out of nine teams.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's soccer team started off fast and defeated Herkimer CCC 5-1 in a key Region III Division III contest.  ASC, winners of five in a row, are now 8-3 on the season.

��Ӱֱ�� State College President Dr. John M. Anderson recently welcomed Wellsville native and ASC class of 1961 graduate Erland (“Erkie”) Kailbourne, retired chairman/CEO of Fleet Bank, and his wife Pauline, to the ceremonial ribbon-cutting of the Pioneer Stadium Guest Box for which Kailbourne made the lead gift

Peter Dezio (East Rochester) scored 7:13 into the contest as ��Ӱֱ�� State defeated Corning CC 1-0 in a Region III Division III contest at Pioneer Stadium on Thursday evening.  ASC improves to 4-5-2 on the season while CCC falls to 3-7-1.

This afternoon's (10/7) women's soccer game between ��Ӱֱ�� State and Corning CC has been cancelled due to poor field conditions caused by the recent heavy rainfall in the area.  The game will be made up on Friday, October 15th at 4 p.m. in Corning.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College cross country program is well represented in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  The men continue to be ranked #2 while the women jumped all the way up to #4 in this week's poll.

��Ӱֱ�� State will host the ASC Volleyball Invitational this weekend at the Orvis Activities Center.  The field of eight is one of the most competitive in tournament history.
