Timberframe Structure Placed on Applied Technology Campus

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College students enrolled in the building construction program were on hand recently to watch as LC Whitford, Wellsville, lent a hand (or rather, a highlift forklift) in placing a timberframe structure at the entrance of the Electrical Building on the Applied Technology Campus, Wellsville.

Hinkle Memorial Library Gallery to Host 12 Artists

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's Hinkle Memorial Library Gallery will host 12 local women artists, originally from Germany; Northfield, IL; Lower Merion, PA; Bala Cynwyd, PA; Arkport; Charlotte, NC; Tennessee, Ohio, and other areas of the United States, who have converged in the Southern Tier and call it home.

ASC Drama Club to Present Picasso at the Lapin Agile

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's student drama club will present the play Picasso at the Lapin Agile, written by Steve Martin, Friday, April 3, at 7 p.m. (a dinner performance at the Lake Lodge), Saturday, April 4, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 5, at 2:30 p.m. at the Orvis Activities Center Auditorium.  Admission to the play is $3 for ASC and AU students and senior citizens; $5 for the general public.

Michelle Green, MPS, RHIA, FAHIMA (NY), CMA (AAMA), CPC,  PCS, SUNY (State University of New York) Distinguished Teaching Professor, Physical and Life Sciences Department, ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College, was named among the Top 10 in HIM (health information management), as published in the Advance for Health Information Professionals newsmagazine.

ASC's Office of Communications Recipient of Three Awards

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's Office of Communications has been notified that it was named a recipient of three awards in the 24th  Annual Admissions Advertising Awards Competition, sponsored by the Admissions Marketing Report publication. Winning entries were the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College total recruitment package (gold); ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College direct mail advertising visit post card (merit); and ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College Web site (merit).

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's School of Applied Technology, Wellsville, will host the 11th annual New York State Postsecondary (college level) SkillsUSA competition Saturday, March 28, 2009.  Proposed categories of competition are automotive service, CNC milling, carpentry, collision repair technology, commercial baking, computer maintenance technology, cosmetology, culinary, job skills demonstration, masonry, precision machining, residential wiring, technical drafting, and welding.

Land-locked ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State Adds Fog Horn to Its Safety Notification System

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College, in its continuing efforts to ensure the safety of its students, faculty, and staff recently added another piece to its comprehensive emergency notification system. 

Essi Corp., a company based in Broussard, LA, supplied ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State with a 133db outdoor, omni-directional warning siren which emits a 360 degree beam of sound on a horizontal plane.
