÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥

Without even knowing it, ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College students are becoming locavores. In early September, ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State's Dining Services team took its first delivery of freshly grown produce from the Angelica Farmers' Market.

Local eateries will once again participate in ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's "Taste of Wellsville," this year, Saturday, Oct. 11, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.  Restaurants and other food purveyors will showcase their tasty signature dishes in "miniature form" at stations around the Applied Technology Campus.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College Homecoming/Family Weekend is September 11-14, 2008. A number of activities have been scheduled including tours of the campus, a Rusted Root concert, several athletic games, alumni group reunion gatherings,

About 800 ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State students attended the annual activities carnival on the eve of the first day of classes. Students took a chance at Putt Luck, Pot-O-Luck, Spindrift, and Krazy Rail among other games of skill.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College President Dr. John M. Anderson, ASC Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Steven J. Tyrell, and Dr. Shaojie Jiang, ASC director, International Education, welcomed Lin Zhongdong and Ma Xiaochuan to the college as they begin their year-long stay as part of SUNY's (State University of New York) China 150 program, which has welcomed 150 Chinese students to 22 SUNY schools,

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College faculty and staff gathered for breakfast recently to hear President John Anderson's opening remarks. Anderson kicked off the academic year by updating new and returning faculty on the state of the college as well as spotlighting the college's strategic plan to guide the campus community through the next five years.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College faculty and staff welcomed this year's incoming freshman class of 1,400 students during the 15^th annual New Student Convocation. This year's speakers were Jim J. Grillo, SUNY distinguished teaching professor, ASC Business Technology Department; and Adam Nash, Barneveld, ASC Student Senate president.

Moving-in day at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College saw hundreds of families like the one pictured here hauling their students' belongings to campus to begin the new academic year.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College President Dr. John M. Anderson recently convened a meeting of all the volunteer boards that serve the institution. This first-ever gathering of its type served to acquaint new board members (and experienced ones) with the goals and responsibilities of the other volunteer boards.

Students at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College will join the trayless revolution when they return to school this fall. Dining services organizations across the county are removing trays from dining halls in order to reduce food waste and save both water and electricity.
