Benchich tosses shutout

Jeff Benchich (Millbrook) tossed a complete game four-hit shutout as ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State scored two runs in the 7th inning to down Illinois Valley 2-0 on Monday afternoon.  The Pioneers improve to 2-3 on the young 2008 season.

ASC falls to Rochester & Southwestern in Myrtle

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College softball team fell in both halves of a doubleheader as they continued play at Snowbird Softball in Myrtle Beach, SC.  The Lady Pioneers (0-4) fell 2-1 in the opener to Rochester (MN) CTC and then fell 11-2 to Southwestern (IA) CC.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College softball team couldn't overcome sloppy defense and fell in both halves of their season opening doubleheader in Myrtle Beach, SC.  The Lady Pioneers fell 11-0 to Mohawk Valley CC in the opener and then fell 8-4 to Northampton (PA) CC.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College baseball team recorded their first win of the 2008 season on Sunday afternoon in a 5-4 victory over Ridgewater (MN) CC.  The team is now 1-3 on the year.

Andrew Foster (Clarkson, ONT.) allowed just three hits in six innings of work but ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State managed just four hits in a 3-1 loss to the University of Connecticut - Avery Point in Cocoa, FL on Friday.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College baseball team opens up their 2008 season this week as they head south for their annual trip to Cocoa Expo in Cocoa, FL.  The Pioneers were 10-6 during the Fall season and were 48-16 during the 2006-07 school year.

Swimming National Championship Blog

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College swimmers Kailtyn Corbett (Clarence) and Becca Mastasio (Livonia) combined to write a blog entry each day as the Pioneers competed in the NJCAA National Championships in Fort Pierce, FL.  The men's team won the non-scholarship championship while the women's team finished in 9th place.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College men's swimming team won the non-scholarship title at the NJCAA National Championships.  The Pioneers racked up 233 points to top the non-scholarship schools and finish 5th overall.  The women scored 82 points to finish 9th out of 15 teams. 

Omoregie breaks school record in Pentathlon

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College sophomore Andy Omoregie (Gates Chili) set a new school record in the pentathlon at the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships at Eastern Illinois University.
