Dream Week Activities

As a part of last month鈥檚 Dream Week activities, 魅影直播 State and 魅影直播 University coordinated a community service called Day of Service. Twenty-three students, staff, and faculty members from both campuses volunteered at various locations around the area, including, Turning Point Catholic Charities, Hornell; Jones Memorial Hospital and Manor Hills, Wellsville; and St. Jude鈥檚 Chapel, 魅影直播.
Hall and Nagle Named Athletes of the Week

Alex Hall (Jamaica/Forest Hill) and Travis Nagle (Randolph) have been named the 魅影直播 State athletes of the week by the SID office.
Sweet Win for Lady Pioneers

The 魅影直播 State women's basketball team saw a double-digit 2nd half lead disappear but was able to score the games final five points to earn a 73-69 victory over Mercyhurst North East in a key Region III Division II contest. The sweet Valentine's Day victory improves the Lady Pioneers to 14-8 overall and 5-3 in RIII DII while MNE is 13-5 overall and 6-1 in RIII DII play.
Rally Falls Short

The 魅影直播 State men's basketball team trailed by as many as 22 points but was able to rally and cut the lead to four but Mercyhurst North East ended the game on a 10-1 to earn a 70-57 victory in a WNYAC contest on Tuesday. MNE improves to 13-11 (5-6 WNYAC) while the Pioneers are 6-18 (1-10 WNYAC).

President Anderson Presents Check for 鈥淧ennies for Pets鈥 Campaign

Because the estimated cost of spaying/neutering 101 animals is $6,000, students hope to help offset that cost by having each 魅影直播 State student contribute 101 pennies toward that goal. Students will be provided a pair of penny wrappers (donated by Steuben Trust) with a request that they are returned with 101 pennies inside.

A total of 37 universities from 13 countries have formed 24 teams that were accepted for the 2013 competition, co-hosted by the China National Energy Administration and the United States Department of Energy.

Peet and Simons Qualify for Wrestling Nationals

魅影直播 State wrestlers Tyler Peet (Unadilla Valley) and Josh Simons (Campbell Savona) qualified for the NJCAA National Championships with 2nd place finishes at the Northeast Districts/Region III Championships. As a team, the Pioneers finished 5th in the competition with 67 points.
Pioneers Lead Regionals after the Multi

The 魅影直播 State men鈥檚 indoor track and field team leads the Region III Championship after the multi-event. The Pioneer trio of participants finished 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the heptathlon held in conjunction with Cornell University鈥檚 Kane Invitational.

The 魅影直播 State men's basketball team dropped their sixth game in 2012 by ten points or less on Saturday, 87-80 at Niagara CCC. The Pioneers are now 6-17 overall and 1-9 in WNYAC play.

Amie Brooks (Pavilion) had a career high 29 points as the 魅影直播 State women's basketball team downed Niagara CCC to earn their 3rd straight victory and improve to 13-8 overall on the season (4-3 Region III Division II).

Erie CC conneced on 14 three-pointers and shot 51.3% for the game as they downed the 魅影直播 State men's basketball team 108-71 in a WNYAC contest. The Pioneers are now 6-16 (1-8 WNYAC) on the season while ECC is 17-3 (7-1 WNYAC).

The 魅影直播 State women's basketball team went on the road and won a 61-50 decision over Erie CC in a key Region III Division II contest. The Lady Pioneers second straight victory improves the team to 12-8 on the season and 3-3 in RIII DII contests.

The 魅影直播 State men's basketball team trailed 44-34 at half and by as many 14 in the 2nd half but were able to claw back into the game to cut it to 77-75 in the final two minutes but were unable to get any closer as Genesee CC earned a 83-78 victory. The Cougars are now 14-9 (6-2 WNYAC) while the Pioneers are 6-15 (1-7 WNYAC).

Dignitaries gathered at 魅影直播 State recently to sign the 鈥渃eremonial beam,鈥 signifying moving from phase 1 of construction of the Student Leadership Center (the steel and concrete done by Christa Construction) to phase 2, (the move to the interior of the structure, to be done by Manning Squires Hennig Co. Inc.).
