÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's Dan Reynolds (Wayland Cohocton) finished 6th in the Region III Decathlon Championship.  Teammate Paul Farrell (St. Francis) is in 7th.

Students Give Up A Meal

Benedict, Jacobs, Guinnip÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College students once again participated in the Student Senate and ACES (Auxiliary Campus Enterprises and Services, the campus dining and vending organization) sponsored "Give Up A Meal" (GUAM) program whereby students who donate a "meal punch" help raise money for charity.

Baseball Win Streak Reaches Thirteen

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College baseball team got the bats going as they ran their winning streak to 13 games with a doubleheader sweep of Ithaca College JV, 17-6 & 11-1.  With the win the Pioneers are now 20-9-1 heading into a four-game series with Monroe CC beginning on Thursday.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College lacrosse team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 19-14 victory over SUNY Delhi on Sunday in a game played at Hartwick College.  With the victory, the Blue and Gold improve to 7-3 (6-2 Region III) on the year.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College baseball team made it 11 straight wins with a doubleheader sweep of Lackawanna College on Saturday afternoon, 4-1 & 8-1.  The Blue and Gold improve to 18-9-1 on the year with their fifth straight doubleheader sweep.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College softball team dropped a WNYAC doubleheader to Mercyhurst North East on Saturday afternoon.  In the opener, the Lady Pioneers played tough but fell 6-4 and in the nightcap the Lady Saints scored early to take control of the contest and won 13-3.  ASC falls to 8-14 on the season.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College lacrosse team jumped out to a 3-0 lead but Finger Lakes CC scored six of the next seven goals and never gave the lead up in a 19-14 Region III victory.  With the victory the Lakers improve to 8-7 while the Pioneers fall to 6-3.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College track and field teams remain in the top ten of the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  The men's team remains ranked #5 while the women slipped down to #8 after being ranked #6 last week.

ASC Will Celebrate 100th Birthday, Thursday, May 8

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College will celebrate its 100th birthday on Thursday, May 8, 2008, with a day-long schedule of events to be held on the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ campus.

Beginning at 11 a.m., the campus community will dedicate a "centennial bench" overlooking the academic quad.

Due to poor weather earlier in the spring Lakeland (OH) CC has been forced to cancel its contest with ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State on Thursday.  The Lakers have been forced to make-up earlier conference rainouts.  No make-up date has been announced.

Pioneers suffer first Region III defeat

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College lacrosse team fell 17-6 to Monroe CC in the first ever night contest at the new on-campus athletic complex.  The Pioneers see their five game winning streak come to an end and suffer their first Region III loss.  The Blue and Gold are now 6-2 (5-1 Region III) while the Tribunes improve to 6-4.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College softball team split a doubleheader with Niagara CCC on Tuesday evening.  The Blazers won the opener 9-3 but the Lady Pioneers bounced back to win the nightcap 10-7.  ASC is now 8-10 on the season and 5-4 in Region III Division III play.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College baseball team ran their winning streak to seven games and completed a four-game sweep of Mercyhurst North East on Saturday afternoon.  The Blue and Gold won the opener 10-1 and the nightcap 6-5.  With the win the Pioneers are now 14-9-1 overall and 4-0 in Region III Division II play.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College sophomore Becky Simpson (Campbell Savona) tossed an eight inning no-hitter in the opener as the Lady Pioneers split a doubleheader with Onondaga CC on Saturday afternoon.  ASC won the opener 2-1 but fell 9-0 in the nightcap.

Charity Game Raises over $900 for Cancer Research

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College hosted its annual Charity Basketball Game on April 2nd at the Orvis Activities Center.  The events included an exciting basketball game, performances from various campus groups, and contest for kids and students.  Most importantly, the evening raised over $921.53 for the Kay Yow WBCA Cancer Fund.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College track and field team had another solid day as they competed at the Houghton College Invitational.  The men's team finished on top of the five team competition while the women finished 3rd.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College softball team split a doubleheader at Finger Lakes CC on Thursday afternoon.  The Lakers broke a 6-6 tie with four runs in the 4th and 5th inning to win the opener 14-6 but the Pioneers rebounded with a 3-1 victory in the nightcap.  ASC improves to 6-8 on the season.

After falling behind 4-1 after one quarter the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College lacrosse team scored the next seven goals en route to a 14-7 victory over Broome CC on the turf at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State.  With the win the Pioneers have won four straight and remain undefeated in Region III play (4-0, 5-1 overall).
